tr river of doubt

The river of doubt story many people may not have herd of but it is an important story in history.  After Theodore Roosevelt, also known as TR, lost the election for third term he and his son Kermit along with other explores went to map the river of doubt. But thing will go very wrong and TR almost lost his life.
After TR lost the election in 1913 he was invited to go map a river in the Amazon River with other explores. He accepted it because he thought it would help him regain his confidents so he would not feel so down. So he left to map with his son Kermit and other explores, when he got there they loaded up supplies and headed out but they did not realize that he greatly under estimated the forest. By the time he got to the river more than half of his supplies and many of the animals died from starvation and sickness. But their worst fears were realized when the canoes they got did not flout and sink into the black river with 10 foot piranhas. Soon one explores would drown in that river.  And each night was harder than the last both TR and Kermit came down with malaria from the disease bugs that roam the forest. After Kermit got better he almost drowned in the rapids. Food became so rare that they had to find berries and plants to survive and stress got to one man and they killed someone in their camp. At that time TR thought about taking a lethal dose of morphine that he carries with him. But his son kept him from taking the dose and soon Kermit will get everyone out. Thanks to Kermit skill in ropes he was able to get everyone out of the deadly forest. And they renamed the river of doubt because of the people in that exploration.
